Dexter Rain | Brighton Michigan Newborn Photographer

Brighton Michigan Newborn Photographer

I was so excited when I saw Dexter come into my studio. He had the cutest little face and best cheeks! He was a rockstar for his session-never made a peep once! Dexter even gave us some awake time and we got to see his beautiful blue eyes! We took him out at the end of his session and got some adorable ones of Dexter in the hammock props I have. I love being a Brighton Michigan Newborn Photographer because of all these ridiculously adorable babies I get to work with!! And can we talk for a moment about how awesome his name is?? Dexter Rain-I know he’s going to grow up and be a star!

Preparing Young Children for Newborn Sessions

I love photographing sibling shots during newborn sessions. Sometimes we get some younger siblings and it can make the session a little challenging. One thing I highly recommend doing is to give the newborn baby’s brother or sister time holding the baby before the session. This will get them used to it. You can praise them and even give them a treat for behaving well, so holding their new sibling is a fun thing to do! Another tip is to make sure we do the session early enough-and not near bedtime! This will make the session go a lot more smoothly. Lastly, don’t hesitate to bring a bribe. Sometimes clients use sweet tarts, fruit snacks, or even freeze dried yogurt drops. These will help ensure a great picture taking experience.

I had so man favorites from our session together! I don’t think I can pick a favorite if I tried! The sibling shots were beyond adorable, and I loved how Dexter’s brother was so gentle and loved giving him a kiss! I’d have to say one I also loved was with Dexter relaxing with his arms behind his head with his eyes open. He was giving me the cutest little look! I am looking forward to editing the rest of their gallery!
